FAQ

What CA firm partners usually ask before a pilot.

← Back to Counta

Is Counta a replacement for Tally or Zoho?

No. Counta is the firm AI desk and control plane. Books of record can stay Zoho, Excel, documents, or mixed. Tally-heavy clients usually work via exports and uploads — not a forced rip-and-replace.

Can the AI post journals or file GST without me?

No unsupervised post or file. Journals are proposed and need your approval before post. GST is drafted into a filing pack; portal submit needs human OTP. The document pipeline never auto-posts.

Who is Counta for — staff or partners?

Both. Staff live in chat and Files: dumps, recon, draft journals. Partners review tables and Approve/Reject posting and filing packs. It is built for multi-client CA firms, not single-shop billing apps.

Does Counta really reconcile GSTR-2B vs books?

Yes — validate and recon run through Counta’s GST APIs against foundation data, not invented tax math in the chat. You still review mismatch tables. Quality depends on clean portal exports and books loaded for the period.

What if GSTIN, period, or entity is unclear?

Counta asks once and waits — it should not guess. If it finds a GSTIN in uploads, it can save it to the client profile. Wrong entity means switch clients or clarify in chat, not silent merge.

How do you stop Client A data leaking into Client B?

Work is scoped to the client open on that desk. Files and books are per-client. Asking about another client should prompt you to switch in the sidebar — not pull the other books into the thread.

Where do GST portal and Zoho passwords live?

In Counta’s secrets vault and connector auth — not pasted into chat. Missing credentials use a secure form. Passwords and OTPs must never appear in the conversation.

What files can we drop?

Invoices, bills, bank statements, GSTR exports, Excel packs, mixed folders and zips. Counta classifies the dump and tables what is still missing for the job.

What does “I don’t know, just do!” do?

It surveys uploads, Accounts, and engagement, then proposes one next step. You Continue or amend. It is guided autopilot — not unbounded autonomy without review.

What is not ready yet?

We do not claim unsupervised GSTN/TRACES filing, full native Tally sync, full HCM/payroll, warehouse WMS, or IC consolidation. Bank recon is useful and still improving. Live portal assist is optional and often off on firm desks.

How should a firm pilot Counta?

Typical pilot: 4–6 weeks, 3–5 clients, one GST period. Success means a messy dump classified, usable recon tables, draft journals or a return pack under approval, and zero unsupervised posts — with staff preferring Counta over WhatsApp + Excel for that workflow.

How is pricing structured?

Standard starts at ₹20,000 / month with 100M included tokens. Admins track usage % and can enable on-demand past the included pool — see Pricing. Human approval for posting and filing applies on every plan. Prefer a walkthrough? Book a demo.
