Our story
Counta was born from a problem we experienced ourselves — and our attempt to make accounting simply work.
Why we built Counta
We are a software development company. Like many businesses, we outsourced our accounting.
But we soon realized that outsourcing the accounting didn’t mean outsourcing the effort.
We still had to spend a lot of time sharing documents, answering questions, figuring out gaps, tracking payments, and finding invoices and receipts. Things were spread across different places, and keeping track of everything became a challenge.
As we were evolving and experimenting with AI and automation, we started thinking:
Why can’t we make this work systematically?
So we decided to build something for ourselves first — a system that could run every day, track what’s happening, bring things together, and make sure nothing gets missed.
That’s how Counta came about.
Today, Counta runs in the background every day, systematically tracking documents, invoices, receipts, payments and more. And as it evolves, it can connect with multiple bookkeeping and business data sources, so you don’t have to worry about where your information lives.
